Tedi Marsh Sings Michel Legrand at Cotuit Center for the Arts

COTUIT – Vocalist Tedi Marsh and special guest Fabiano de Castro will sing songs by Michel Legrand on Thursday, August 3, at 7:30 PM, at Cotuit Center for the Arts.

Accompanying will be Bart Weisman on drums, Bruce Abbott on woodwinds, and Ron Ormsby on bass.

A prolific composer, Legrand has written over 200 film and television scores. His score to “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” (1964), in which all the dialogue was set to music, was a revolutionary concept at the time and brought him to public attention.

Later films included “The Thomas Crown Affair,” which featured the hit song “The Windmills of Your Mind,” which won him his first Oscar, “The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun,” “The Go-Between,” “Summer of ‘42,” which featured another hit, “The Summer Knows,” “Yentl,” and many more.

He has also written many memorable songs, including “Watch What Happens,” “I Will Wait for You,” “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life,” “The Summer Knows,” “How Do You Keep the Music Playing,” and others.

De Castro is well-known for his original Brazilian music and his renditions of other Brazilian jazz composers, such as Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Tickets are $30, $28 for seniors and veterans, and $25 for members.
