BARNSTABLE – Old rivalries are renewed and bragging rights are on the line across Cape Cod with a helping of Thanksgiving Day high school football games.

Traditional rivalry games are a Turkey Day tradition in Massachusetts, and few rivalries in the state go back as far as Falmouth and Barnstable.

The Cape’s two largest towns will meet for the 130th time at Barnstable High School at 10 a.m.

Falmouth has been a force to be reckoned with this season. The Clippers sport an 11-0 record and are awaiting a date with Marblehead in the Division 2A Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium a week from Saturday. The 5-5 Red Raiders will look for an upset, a winning season, and a bounce back from last year’s 54-20 loss to Falmouth.

The Mashpee Falcons (9-1) are also headed to a State Championship game, but before they match up against Wahconah in the Division 4 Super Bowl, they have a Turkey Day tilt at home with Sandwich (3-7). The Blue Knights won last year’s matchup 7-6.

The Nauset Warriors (3-7) host the Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins (6-4) in the 21st edition of the Chowder Bowl. D-Y has won the last 13 meetings, a streak second-year Nauset Head Coach and former Green Bay Packers Head Coach Mike Sherman will look to snap.

Bourne (1-9) and Wareham (7-3) will meet for the 86th time on Thanksgiving Day as part of their cross-canal rivalry. The game will be played at Wareham High School.

Upper Cape Tech (8-3) and Cape Tech (3-7) meet again in their young rivalry, with this season marking the 6th matchup between the Cape’s two vocational schools. Upper Cape has a four-game winning streak in the Thanksgiving matchup.

Monomoy (4-5) will host Sacred Heart (3-7) in the second year of their Thanksgiving matchup. The Fightin’ Saints won the inaugural matchup 34-32 last season and also beat Monomoy earlier this year 27-12.

All games kick off at 10 a.m.
