‘The Dixie Swim Club’ Comes to Cotuit Center for the Arts

COTUIT – A comedic play which features strong roles for women is coming to the Cotuit Center for the Arts next month.

“The Dixie Swim Club” will be performed in the Black Box Theater from September 13-30.

Five southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, travel for a long weekend every summer to recharge their relationships.

They free themselves from husbands, kids and jobs at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives.

The women rely on each other to get through the challenges that life brings their way – with some hilarious and unexpected twists and turns.

“The Dixie Swim Club,” directed by Janet Leahy, is a tribute to the durability of women’s friendships.

Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is no Sunday show on September 23.

Tickets are $20 and $15 for members. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit artsonthecape.org.
