The Fund for Sandwich Accepting Nonprofit Grant Proposals

SANDWICH – Nonprofit organizations serving residents in Sandwich can apply for grant funding through the Fund for Sandwich of the Cape Cod Foundation.

This year, the fund will award five $750 grants for projects and programs within the fields of health and human services, education, the environment, youth and elder services, community development and the arts.

Applications may be submitted online at capecodfoundation.org by Friday, October 4.

The recipients will be announced at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 10 at a presentation at the Sand Hill School Community Center.

The Fund for Sandwich has distributed $5,000 in grants in its first two years of grantmaking.

Last year’s recipients were Friends of the Sandwich Town Archives, Sandwich Arts Alliance, Sandwich Council on Aging, Sandwich Elementary PTA, and Special Olympics of Massachusetts.

The grants supported a program to digitize the town’s collections, arts programs for elementary school children and underserved adults, homemaking and respite services for seniors, and new uniforms for the Cape Cod Waves Specials Olympics team.

“We will continue to accept a broad range of proposals this year,” said Dr. Madeleine Wing Adler, member of the Advisory Committee. “The nonprofits we have supported so far have impacted different areas of our community in very meaningful ways.”

A group of residents established The Fund for Sandwich at the Foundation in 2015 to build a permanent endowment for the town through private donations and to provide grants to nonprofit organizations that serve the community.
