NANTUCKET- The Nantucket Historical Association will be presenting the ‘Candle Factory Lecture Series’ this month featuring historians and authors focused on whaling at the Whaling Museum.
On May 15th, you can join historian Matthew Stackpole for a lecture on his book on the restoration of the Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whaleship, and the oldest commercial ship still afloat in the United States
On May 22, Michael Dyer, Curator of History at New Bedford Whaling Museum and author of “O’er the wide and tractless sea” will highlight specific pieces of artwork and brings them together in the context of American maritime culture.
NHA will welcome author Philip Hoare on May 29 for a lecture drawing on his latest book, “RISINGTIDEFALLINGSTAR”.
