Pleasant Bay Alliance Searches for Volunteers

ORLEANS – The Pleasant Bay Alliance is searching for new volunteers for the 2019 water quality monitoring season.

Anyone interested in volunteering will help the Alliance monitor the Water quality throughout Cape Cod.

This seasons sampling will occur twice in July and August and once in September.

The data collected plays a key role in the Alliances understanding of nutrient-related water quality conditions throughout Pleasant Bay and other waters on Cape Cod.

New volunteers will take part in an introductory session which explains the program objectives and procedures in more detail.

Returning volunteers will also have to attend one of the hour long re-certification session.

The Alliance monitors the waters in Chatham Harbor, Stage Harbor, Oyster Pond, Mill Pond, the Nantucket sound, and Cape Cod bay among others.

Training for new volunteers begins Tuesday, June 18th at Chatham Town Hall Annex from 6 to 8 p.m.

If you are interested in volunteering, contact the Alliance at 508 430 2563.
