Thirwood Place Produces New Local TV Show Aimed at Seniors

ThinkstockPhotos-188069384YARMOUTH – Thirwood Place and the Cape Cod Commmunity Media Center have announced the launch of a new local television show.

“Cape Cod Senior Navigator” is a themed monthly show aimed at entertaining and educating seniors as they navigate life on Cape Cod.

The show was created and will be presented by Thirwood Place, and is produced using the training programs, support staff, facility and equipment at the Community Media Center.

“The Media Center is thrilled to have a new show on Channel 99 that fills a need in our programming for our senior residents,” said Paula Hersey, Director of Outreach and Special Projects. “We enjoyed helping the Thirwood/Davenport production team utilize their studio/field training to create an engaging, informative and professionally produced show.”

The 30 minute show includes a 15 minute interview and three five-minute segments.

This month’s theme is Heart Health and next month’s will be Technology.

Upcoming interviews will feature Cape Cod Healthcare cardiologist Dr. Elissa Thompson, Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra conductor Jung-Ho Pak and Deputy Police Chief Steven Xiarhos.

The program will air on Comcast Channel 99 on Mondays at 10:30 a.m., Wednesdays at 8 p.m. and Fridays at 1:30 p.m.

Each episode will also be available on the Thirwood Place website.
