Three Bays Preservation Hosts 6th Annual Paddle for the Bays on September 17

Three BaysOSTERVILLE – Three Bays Preservation Inc. has opened registration for its highlight event of the summer—the 6th Annual ‘Paddle for the Bays’ open to stand up paddlers as well as kayakers, scheduled for September 17th at 9:30 a.m. at Ropes Beach in Cotuit.

On-site registration is available race day beginning at 7 a.m.

Participants in the largest stand up paddleboard and kayak race event on Cape Cod will have their skills, speed and endurance tested on courses of varying difficulty on some of the most beautiful water passages in New England.

New to the 2016 race is a relay team event for four people per team, who will use the same kayak or stand up paddleboard.

Each racer will kayak or paddle for a half mile for a team total of two miles.

Three Bays organizes this popular race to continue the community’s awareness of the watershed.

All monies raised support conservation and water quality science and education programs to protect and conserve North, West and Cotuit Bays and smaller estuaries.

There are two ways to register:  participants can pre-register online at 3bays.org where the first 100 people will receive a free long-sleeved T-shirt.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Three Bays Preservation Inc., pre-registrants pay a flat fee of $95, and youths will be charged $45.

You can also register in-person the day of the race for $110 for adults, and $55 for youth.
