Oysters and Champagne Event to Raise Money for Housing Programs

HYANNIS – Ticket sales are now open for the 2nd Annual Oysters & Champagne fundraising event in July.

Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) hosts the event, which will take place this year on Thursday, July 11 from 5:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. at the Wequassett Resort.

Guests will enjoy locally-harvested oysters paired with complimentary sparkling beverages.

Funds raised will support Housing Assistance’s vision of a region where everyone has a safe and stable place to call home and an opportunity to contribute to a thriving year-round community.

“This is a great night out for a great cause. Guests will not only savor oysters harvested in Dennis, Chatham, and Wellfleet, but also learn more about Housing Assistance and our exciting new initiatives, including our housing advocacy programs and our Housing Legacy Fund,” said Chief Development Officer Anne Van Vleck.

“We established the Housing Legacy Fund last year with the Cape Cod Foundation so that donors could invest in the future sustainability of housing services in our region. Response has been so enthusiastic that Housing Assistance has committed to raising $1 million for the legacy fund over five years, by the time our agency celebrates its 50th year of service.”

Proceeds from Oysters & Champagne will go to benefit Housing Assistance programs which include operating four family homeless shelters; homeless outreach to those living in the streets and woods of Cape Cod; homelessness prevention; housing development; managing nearly 1,200 Section 8 vouchers in the region; offering foreclosure and reverse mortgage counseling; and providing an array of financial literacy workshops to those of all income levels.

Tickets for Oysters & Champagne are $150 per person and are available on at www.haconcapecod.org. In addition to oysters and champagne, there will be a chef’s selection of other edible offerings as well as an open bar.

Event sponsorships are still available as well. Businesses interested in serving as a sponsor for Oysters & Champagne should contact Housing Assistance Event and Resource Development Coordinator Deanna Bussiere at [email protected].
