BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable Police Superior Officers Union has endorsed Barnstable County Sheriff Jim Cummings for re-election.
Lt. Michael Clark announced the endorsement, saying the department has enjoyed a strong relationship over the years with Cummings.
“For many years, we have enjoyed an outstanding relationship with Sheriff Cummings and his staff. Their mission statement of Integrity, Compassion, Teamwork and Professionalism certainly exemplifies our Sheriff,” Clark said.
“Having worked with the men and women of the Barnstable Police Department for decades, I am grateful for their support of my reelection,” Cummings said.
Democrat Randy Azzato is challenging Cummings, a three-term incumbent.
Early voting is underway in Massachusetts. Election Day is November 8.
