Bourne’s ‘Tip Jar Bandit’ to appear in court on March 6

BOURNE – The tip jar bandit will be summonsed to Falmouth District court on March 6th to appear before a magistrate for a probable cause hearing.

The 66-year-old Bourne woman – who has not been formally identified – is accused of stealing cash from a tip jar at the Lobster Trap Restaurant in Bourne last week.

She’ll be summonsed on the charge of larceny under $250.

The probable cause hearing is not open to the public.

She was identified after detectives were able to confirm she used a credit card to purchase food immediately after reaching into the tip jar and people recognized her from the shared surveillance video.

The video appears to show the woman taking cash from the tip jar while standing at the counter.
