Town of Harwich Announces Road Projects

road construction02HARWICH – The Town of Harwich has two major roadpaving projects in September.

The Long Pond repaving from Harwich Pines to the Fontaine Medical Center began Tuesday, September 16.

The first part of the project will stretch from Harwich Pines to the Pleasant Bay Road Extension. The final stage will consist of top coat paving from Harwich Pines to Fontaine Medical Center.

It is expected to be completed October 1 and 2.

One travel lane will remain open at all times but delays of 15 minutes or more should be expected.

The Belmont Road construction and paving project will last for about 10 days beginning Tuesday, September 23.

The first part of the project involves paving from Jeremy Lane to the Dennis town line, followed by adjustments to manhole covers and catch basins.  The project is due to be completed October 2 and 3 with the repaving of driveway aprons.

One travel lane travel will remain open at all times, but delays of 15 minutes or more may be possible, according to police.
