ORLEANS – A Memorial Day service will be held on Monday in Orleans.
The service begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Town Cove by the Yacht Club to honor past members of the Navy and Coast Guard, with a prayer and wreath laying from the town dock.
From there, all visitors may march with the Honor Guards from American Legion Post 308 ( Brewster VFW, Orleans Police and Fire) to the Memorial Stones, located at Academy Place. The service will continue honoring the Marine Corps, Army and Air Force.
Also scheduled to participate in the event will be- American Legion Post 308, Brewster VFW, Orleans Police Honor Guard, Orleans Fire Department Honor Guard, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Daisy troop, Sea Scouts, Nauset Regional Middle School Band and Chorus.
There will be a dedication for the new Korean war. Viet Nam war memorial.
Various speakers are planned for the event, both retired and active members of the military as well as Fire Chaplin Wesley Williams.
