Trainor Gets Best New Artist Nomination

NEW YORK – An entertainer with local ties has received a Grammy nomination.

Meghan Trainor, who grew up on Nantucket and attended Nauset Regional High School in Eastham, has been nominated for Best New Artist.

Her first album “Title” was released in January debuting at number 1 on the charts and includes hit singles “All About that Bass”, “Lips Are Movin’”, “Dear Future Husband” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.”

Courtney Barnett, James Bay, Sam Hunt and Tori Kelly were also nominated for the award.
