Trial Begins for Cotuit Man Accused of Killing Wife

BARNSTABLE – The Cotuit man accused of murdering his wife last year is on trial this week at Barnstable Superior Court.

37-year-old Christopher Fratantonio is charged with stabbing and killing Mary Fratantonio during an argument at their home on Trout Brook Road on February 28, 2017.

Jury selection is complete and testimony is expected to continue throughout the week.

Mary Fratantonio was a first-year 8th grade special education teacher at Barnstable High School. She was found by police in her bedroom with multiple stab wounds.

Police say Christopher Fratantonio admitted to the crime by giving a detailed description to responding officers of his motive and how he allegedly carried out the attack, including the location of the knife.

The couple’s two young children were home at the time of the incident. They were unharmed.
