TRURO – Truro police are asking for the public’s help after a dog was shot and killed yesterday morning within the boundaries of the Cape Cod National Seashore.
According to police, the 6-year-old cocker spaniel named Sophie was being walked by her owner off leash near a trail in a wooded area near Head of the Meadow Road before 10 a.m.
Police say Sophie died on the way to the Ark Angel Animal Hospital in Wellfleet.
The incident is still under investigation.
