Truro Police Seeking Help in Dog Shooting Investigation

TRURO – Truro police are asking the public’s help for information regarding the shooting of a dog Saturday morning.

Police said Sophie, a 6-year-old cocker spaniel, was shot and killed near Head of the Meadow Road around 9:30 a.m. while walking off leash with her owner.

According to police, a full size, white Chevy or GMC pickup truck with a white cap was seen in Provincetown and Truro with three or more men wearing hunter orange.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have seen a truck matching that description in the area of Head of the Meadow Road around the time of the incident.
