TRURO – At town meeting tonight, Truro residents will be considering a debt exclusion of $5.1.million for the purchase of 70 acres of privately owned land on route 6, the Select Board has endorsed the measure unanimously.
The property is located near the Truro Central School and is owned by the Walsh family, which has been prvately negotiting with the town.
In supporting the purchase, the Select Board cited potential uses for the property such as open space, possible housing or recreational uses.
The debt exclusion would also need ratification at town election in May.
