Turkish PM Says 1 Bomber Close to Identification

AP LogoANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkey’s prime minister says authorities are close to identifying one of the suicide bombers who carried out the blasts in Ankara that killed 97 people.

The prime minister says evidence point to “a certain group.” He says the Islamic State group is the “No.1 priority” of the investigation.

A published report says Turkey is using DNA technology in an attempt to connect the bombings to the extremist group.

A newspaper with close ties to the Turkish government (Yeni Safak) reports investigators are comparing DNA samples of the suspected bombers with those obtained from families of extremists.
