MIDDLEBORO- The Old Colony YMCA honored two local artists and educators with a Community Impact Award this year for their work in art and music education with juvenile justice involved teens here on Cape Cod.
As working artists and faculty members of Cotuit Center for the Arts, Sam Holmstock and Joe Diggs have dedicated their time, and professional expertise in the effort to help these teens move through their trauma, and find their creative voice.
Diggs, who is originally from France, graduated from Southeastern Massachusetts University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art Painting, and has recently completed a Masters of Fine Art Degree at Mass College of Art & Design.
Holmstock is one of the co-founders of the world fusion ensemble ENTRAIN, and performed with this incredible group of talented musicians for over 20 years.
Currently Holmstock serves as the Principal Facilitator at drum strategies for healing, bringing drumming activities to the Special Needs Community.
