Two Robberies in Yarmouth 13 Minutes Apart

police carYARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police Department responded to two robberies Saturday night within 13 minutes of one another.

The first call came from Cape Cod Farms at 252 Route 28 at 10:30 p.m.

Sgt. Tom Hennessey, of the Falmouth Police Department, said that two unidentified black males were described as the robbers and that one of the men reached into the cash register and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to Hennessey, the cashier did not see the men brandish a weapon and the men fled the store on foot.

The police got another call just 13 minutes later from the Hess gas station at 1353 Route 28 in South Yarmouth reporting a robbery.

The cashier told police that the suspects were two, unarmed black males and one of them grabbed cash from the register and fled on foot.

Hennessey said it is a strong possibility that both robberies were carried out by the same pair of men.

A K-9 from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department searched the area near the Hess station.

Both businesses did have working surveillance cameras.

Thursday night, Wallgreens in Yarmouth was robbed and police think there might be a connection between the three robberies.
