Two Taken to Hospital After Truro Crash

ER medical symbolTRURO – There were no serious injuries and only a civil citation after a head-on crash in Truro that caused a temporary trash delay earlier today.

The two-car accident in Truro caused a portion of Route 6 to be closed to traffic around 10:30 this morning for one hour. Route 6 is now open.

The Massachusetts State Police say the accident occurred near the intersection of Town Hall Road.

Robert Montione, 47, of Oxford was driving a 2005 Ford van heading north when he stopped on Route 6 with his left turn signal on and was hit by the car driving behind him.

Police issued a citation for driving too closely to Kathleen McCarthy, 66, of Orleans, who was driving a 2000 Nissan Altima and did not stop in time.

Truro police said three people were injured in the crash. One was treated at the scene and two were taken to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
