WAREHAM – Here’s one that will make you jealous.
Two Wareham men won the $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery off scratch tickets in just one week’s time.
On April 2, Nicholas Labelle, of Wareham, became the fourteenth $1 million prize winner in the 2017 edition of the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “100X” instant game.
Labelle chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (less tax withholdings). He and his wife plan on using his winnings to pay off the mortgage on their house and put some aside for their daughter’s college education.
He purchased his winning ticket at White Rose Pantry, located at 277 Turnpike Street in South Easton. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
One $1 million prize is still available in this edition of the $10 “100X” instant game.
Exactly one week later, on April 9, Michael Gullbrants, of Onset, became the 49th $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “The Fastest Road to $1 Million” instant ticket game. This is the ninth $1 million prize won on this ticket since March 21.
Gullbrants chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (less tax withholdings). He purchased his winning ticket at Sona’s One Stop, 343 Torrey St. in Brockton. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
It’s the game’s ninth winner since March 21. There are 74 additional $1 million prizes available in “The Fastest Road to $1 Million” $30 instant game.
