Update: Man Dies After Being Pulled from Osterville Pond

joshua pond'OSTERVILLE – The man who was pulled from Joshua’s Pond in Osterville Monday night has died, according the Barnstable Police Department.

A dive team from the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills fire department pulled 36-year-old Jorge Arias from the water more than 45 minutes after he went under. Arias was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment, but did not survive.

Rescue personnel were called to the scene just after 7:45 p.m. when a bystander found two children by the pond saying they could not find their father.

C-O-M-M rescue teams were assisted at the pond by a dive team from the Hyannis Fire Department, the Barnstable Police Department, and state police.
