HYANNIS – NOAA Fisheries is upgrading its online groundfish trip notification system.

A technical team has been working for over a year to upgrade the system so it is easier to use, mobile friendly and adaptable to new management requirements as they come along.

Northeast groundfish vessels must notify NOAA about groundfishing trips in advance so a fishery monitor or observer can be assigned if needed.

The upgrades will come online in April before the season starts on May 1.
