KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Taliban gunmen are fanning out in full force across a key Afghan city they captured yesterday.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is vowing to take back the northern city of Kunduz (KUHN’-dooz) and is urging his nation to trust Afghan troops to do the job.
The U.S. military carried out an airstrike on the city today, as the Afghan military launched a counter-offensive. Yesterday’s Taliban assault took Afghan authorities and military officials by surprise.
