Value of Residential Building Projects Rise on Cape Cod

CENTERVILLE – The value of residential building permits on Cape Cod rose by more than $39 million last year, a 9 percent increase from 2016.

According to new statistics made available by the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Cape Cod, the total number of residential building permits issued on Cape Cod in 2017 was just 11 more than 2016.

The total value of all permits issued on Cape Cod in 2017 was over $475 million. 

Remodeling projects represented the large majority of work done on Cape Cod last year at 89 percent. 10 percent of construction was new.

1 percent of the residential building permits on Cape Cod last year were issued for rebuilding projects.
