HYANNIS – A ceremony will be held Friday afternoon to recognize Vietnam Veterans from the Cape and Islands on Vietnam Veterans Day.
The day commemorates when the last American troops left the country on March 29, 1973. Vietnam Veterans Day was created by a Presidential Proclamation in 2012.
The ceremony, hosted by the Cape Cod Vet Center, takes place at 1:30 p.m. at the Barnstable Senior Center in Hyannis.
Veterans of all eras and members of the community are welcome to attend.
