Vigil to Remember Those Lost to Addiction Set for Hyannis

candleHYANNIS – The 5th annual Cape Cod Candlelight Overdose Vigil is scheduled for tonight in Hyannis.

The event will offer support for families and friends of victims and for those suffering from addiction. A number of guest speakers will address attendees, including Barnstable County Sheriff James Cummings and Jeanne Flynn, the mother of Brian Flynn of Bourne, who died of an overdose earlier this year.

The vigil begins at 5:30 pm on the Hyannis Village Green. At 4:30 pm, officials will hold a training session for the drug Narcan, which can reverse the effects of an overdose.
