Vineyard Charity Golf Classic to Raise Money for Island Programs this Fall

EDGARTOWN – As fall begins on Martha’s Vineyard the Rotary Club and Martha’s Vineyard Community Services will host the third annual Vineyard Charity Golf Classic.

The tournament, which is nearly sold out, helps fund a wide range of programs and services that assist thousands of residents each year.

Services provided by MVCS include early childhood programs, assistance for the disabled, counseling for mental health and addiction recovery, and assistance for victims of domestic violence. The organization also operates the Thrift Shop in Vineyard Haven.

The island’s Rotary Club is made up of 60 men and women who volunteer to raise money for numerous charities through the tournament, a pancake breakfast, an antique show and the “great lobster raffle.”

The event is September 25 at the Vineyard Golf Club in Edgartown. In two years it has raised $110,000.
