Vineyard Conservation Society Announces Upcoming Winter Walks

OAK BLUFFS – The fun and informative Winter Walk Series is being held on Martha’s Vineyard again this year.

Join the Vineyard Conservation Society (VCS) this winter to take in the Island’s scenic beauty, and learn the interesting conservation history of some local ecological treasures.

The VCS will hold its first Winter Walk of 2019 on Sunday, January 13 at Thimble Farm. The walk will be held with Tisbury group Island Grown Initiative.

On February 10, the VCS will meet in Chilmark at Spring Point for another walk.

Finally, on March 10, the VCS will hold another walk in Oak Bluffs at Featherstone.

Winter Walks usually begin at 10:00 a.m., but VCS staff urge participants to check their website for times and directions.

All walks are free and include free cider and cookies afterwards.

The Vineyard Conservation Society is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to preserving the environment of Martha’s Vineyard through advocacy, education and the protection of the Island’s land and water.
