FALMOUTH – A Vineyard Haven couple will donate a Cuddle Cot tomorrow to the Falmouth Hospital Maternity Ward.

The device is placed under a Moses blanket and regulates the body temperature of stillborn children so that parents can spend as much time with them as possible.

Julie Immelt and Benjamin Wheldon are donating the device in their son, Mark’s name. Mark died at birth last February.

Since learning of the device, the couple has raised enough money to donate two machines, to both Falmouth and Martha’s Vineyard hospitals. They reportedly plan on raising funds to donate to Cape Cod and Nantucket hospitals as well.

A donation ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m. in Falmouth Hospital.
