Vineyard Receives State Funding For Bikes and Pedestrian Access

WEST TISBURY – MassDOT is announcing grants that total $6,400,000 that will be distributed between 22 communities across the commonwealth for infrastructure.

On Martha’s Vineyard, West Tisbury has been awarded $141,500 and will use the money to improve access to the State Forest for pedestrians and bicyclists and pedestrians.

In addition, the town will put in place pedestrian accommodations that will comply with federal and state access requirements according to guidelines in the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The money is coming through the State’s Complete Streets Funding Program.
