MARTHA’S VINEYARD – The voters of Oak Bluffs and Edgartown took different approaches to the question of retail marijuana stores in their towns, according to the Vineyard Gazette.
In quick meetings in both towns, residents addressed the issue, with Edgartown placing a moratorium on retail pot shops and Oak Bluffs creating an overlay district in which non-medical retailers could be located.
In Oak Bluffs, the overlay coincides with a medical marijuana district created in 2013.
In Edgartown, the moratorium will be in place until December 31st 2018 or until the town enacts zoning regulations, whichever comes first.
