HARWICH – The Harwich Conservation Trust is seeking volunteers to help with trail cleanup in the Island Pond Conservation Area and Hacker Wildlife Sanctuary.

The area suffered heavy damage during the severe storm on July 23.

The next trail cleanup is Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers should meet at the trail head kiosk at 281 Queen Anne Road and bring water, work gloves, and a rake or loppers.

There is additional parking across the street at 276 Queen Anne Road.

The safety of volunteers is critical so the use of chainsaws and power tools will be limited to experienced users with the required safety equipment.

No trail work experience is required.

To RSVP contact Tyler Maikath, the Outreach and Stewardship Coordinator, at [email protected], and include what tools you intend to bring.

More cleanups may be announced in the future.
