Waquoit Bay Research Reserve Looking for Phytoplankton Detectives

Waquoit Bay in Falmouth is part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.

WAQUOIT – The Waquoit Bay Reserve research team is looking for volunteers who are interested in exploring and learning more about the world of phytoplankton in Waquoit Bay.

Officials said they are looking for people who can commit 3 hours on a Wednesday evening a few times a month to help identify and count phytoplankton samples being collected.

Those microscopic organisms drive the food web in Waquoit Bay. The weekly classroom will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.
