Children can discover unique ways animals survive in the cold weather with an event Tuesday at the Waquoit Bay Reserve Visitor Center from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The story, “A Warm Winter’s Tail” will be read and children will go outside for a hike searching for signs of animals.
On Wednesday at the visitor center, children can join a park interpreter to examine owl pellets to find out what the birds have been eating. The program is from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
A Weather Watcher Safari will be held at the visitor center Thursday morning. The program will allow children to use tools and observations to find the warmest, coldest, wettest and windiest places around the center and how weather shapes the land.
A Snowy Owl Walk for all ages will also be held Thursday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at South Cape Beach State Park.
