HYANNIS – Construction work will begin after Labor Day to improve the water quality and fire flows for the Main Street Area in Hyannis.
The town of Barnstable’s Department of Public Works’ Water Supply Division crews will work to clean and line approximately 1,700 feet of water main on Main Street.
The project will also replace valves, fire hydrants and customer water services up to property lines.
Major work will be completed this fall with final paving scheduled for the spring.
A bypass system will be installed to maintain water services during the project.
