BOSTON – The Division of Marine Fisheries has reopened waters south of Cape Cod to shellfish harvesting, effective immediately.
Buzzards Bay, Vineyard Sound, Nantucket Sound and the surrounding waters were closed to shellfishing on October 9th due to the presence of a potentially toxic phytoplankton called Pseudo-Nitzshia.
The agency’s most recent toxicity testing has concluded that the areas are safe to harvest in.
