‘We-Can’ Womens Movement Sees a Change In Leadership

Dianne Gauthier

CAPE COD-  A few months after the ‘WeCan’ local women’s empowerment group, announced a change in leadership, Dianne Gauthier has taken the reigns as Executive Director.

Gauthier replaced Andi Genser, who retired from We-Can after 8 years of dedicated service.

Gauthier says that We-Can’s services stretch to a wide spectrum of clients; “we help women from the bridges to Provincetown…. in their 20’s and 30’s, 70’s, and 80’s and everything in between.”

Gauthier also says that in the last year alone, the organization has “handled about 1,500 calls and walk in’s and… served 2,600 women.

Services to provide to those who ask for it are free of charge, and can even be offered in both Portuguese and Spanish.

Before coming to We-Can, Gauthier has held leadership positions with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts and has worked with the Lower Cape Outreach Council.
