WE CAN Workshop for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren May 16

EASTHAM – WE CAN, the organization dedicated to empowering Cape Cod women to achieve lasting positive change for themselves and their families, announced a free, confidential workshop, “Legal Issues Facing Grandparents Raising Grandchildren.”

The workshop will take place on May 16, 5:00-8:00 PM at the Eastham Methodist Church.

This workshop is intended to respond to the legal questions and needs of grandparents raising grandchildren.

Grandparents are encouraged to come and have dinner with the other attendees and visit the resource tables of other organizations from 5:00-6:00 then attend the session while their grandchildren are cared for in a separate space.

Presented by Attorney Lynn Girton, Vice Chair of the state Commission on the Status of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren.

The session is co-sponsored by Cape Cod Neighborhood Support Coalition, the state Commission on the Status of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and the Cape Cod Children’s Place, Inc.

Child care is provided by the Cape Cod Children’s Place; pre-registration is required.

There is no charge for the workshop but registration is required and space is limited.
