HYANNIS – The town of Barnstable has announced revised weekend rates for public parking at the 200 Main Street lot in Hyannis beginning next month.
The new rates are $1 per hour for up to 12 hours from 5 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Sunday between April 15 and September 7. No parking will be allowed between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. during the guest season.
During the offseason the rate is $5 per day with overnight parking.
The rates take effect July 1.
Located directly on the east end of Hyannis Main Street, the 37-space lot provides a convenient location for the public with easy access to local businesses on Main Street and Hyannis Harbor.
The Parking Management team will actively monitor and manage the lot and vehicles remaining in the 200 Main Street lot after 10 p.m. during the guest season will be towed at the owners’ expense.
The town says the changes are a continuation of efforts to identify opportunities within public parking areas to creatively improve the quality of life for residents and guests while supporting the economic vitality of the community.
