WELLFLEET – The Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is hosting an environmental film series next month featuring documentary screenings and panel discussions.
All films in this series, called Sea Change, are screened at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater at the Julie Harris Stage in Wellfleet.
Participants will be treated to Fox Tales on February 16 from 7:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. The PBS Nature film will bring covers intimate views of red foxes’ lives. From inside a den with fox kits to young foxes wrestling for dominance, and even the view from inside a garbage can as a fox makes a raid.
After the film, the Sanctuary will discuss the growth of the Cape’s red fox population, its highs and lows, the animals’ interactions with coyotes, and its interactions with humans. WCAI’s Steve Junker will join Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary science coordinator Mark Faherty and wildlife veterinarian Priya Patel of the Cape Wildlife Center.
The Last Bay Scallop is scheduled for March 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The final portion of the series, Ocean Cities, will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on April 20.
Admission to either portion of the series is $12.
Reserve your space online at www.what.org or by calling WHAT at 508-349-9428. Reservations are not available through Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
