Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary Hosts Natural History Day Camp

WELLFLEET – The Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is holding a Natural History Day Camp from June to August for children ages 4 to 13.

The camp is held to help inspire a child’s lasting curiosity and excitement about nature.

Campers can have fun, make friends as they explore the nature of Cape Cod at the 937-acre wildlife sanctuary.

Themed weekly sessions feature outdoor exploration, hands-on activities, games, songs and crafts.

Some incorporate offsite travel for kayaking, whale watching, and snorkling.

The goals of the camp are to instill awareness and appreciation of nature, to demonstrate responsibility for the environment, and to promote a sense of place.

There are also themed weekly sessions at Chatham Elementary School from June to August for children ages 4 to 13.

Campers will explore trails, discover tidal flats, catch frogs, experiment with science, dabble in art and venture to new places around Chatham Elementary School.

The goals are to instill awareness and appreciation of nature, to demonstrate responsibility for the environment and to promote a sense of place.
