Wellfleet Police Release Details on Saturday’s Head-on Crash

ambulanceWELLFLEET- Wellfleet Police have released more details on yesterday’s head-on crash on Route 6 that caused the highway to shut down for hours.

Around 3:24 p.m. Police received numerous 911 calls reporting a head-on accident on Route 6 by Wendon Way.

The Wellfleet Fire Department arrived on scene and used hydraulic tools to free 59-year-old Michael Goldstein of New York, who was later transported by medflight to Mass General Hospital in Boston with serious injuries.

At this time, Goldstein’s condition is stable.

The second vehicle involved was operated by 20-year-old Timothy Skerry of Kingston, MA and 19-year-old passenger Jaclyn Tomasello of Haifax, MA.

Both were transported to Cape Cod Hospital.

Skerry was treated and later released.

Tomasello was admitted with non-life threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.

A third vehicle involved had minor damage, and the driver was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.

The driver was treated for minor injuries and was later released.

Due to the nature of the collision and debris scattered throughout Route 6, the highway was closed.

At this time, the accident is under investigation by the Cape Cod Regional Crash Reconstruction Team and the Wellfleet Police Department.
