WELLFLEET – Some residents in Wellfleet are becoming concerned about police policies that they say are not acceptable.
Sharyn Lindsay is a resident who voiced her thoughts on the situation at a meeting of the Wellfleet Board of Selectmen Tuesday night.
She is calling for a new citizen’s review board to be formed to monitor police activity.
Lindsay says there is one officer in particular who she believes is heavy-handed toward the town’s younger residents.
She is in the process of collecting 500 signatures on a petition calling for the officer’s firing, and she plans to present the petition to Police Chief Ronald Fisette when it is complete.
