WELLFLEET – Wellfleet residents reconvened at the second night of town meeting Tuesday night and approved several measures designed to improve the housing situation in town.
Expenditure of Community Preservation Act funds, $100,000 for a housing trust fund, $75,000 for a housing consultant, and $7,500 for a forum called the Cape Housing Institute were all approved. In addition, a measure that puts aside 4 to 6 acres of town owned land for housing was also give the green light.
In all, 10 overrides and debt exclusions were approved in the two night meeting, including money for a preschool program for 3 year old children.
In other matters, the town approved a ban on the sale of balloons that would take effect in June of 2020, a measure urging town officials to become more involved in the shark and seal population situation was defeated.
