Wellfleet Trails the Backdrop for Afternoon Walks Geared Towards Kids

WellfleetWELLFLEET – A new program offered by the Wellfleet Conservation Trust will bring young participants on afterschool educational walks.

The Wednesday afternoon walks will be free of charge and will be led by retired elementary school teacher Heidi Clemmer, who has also launched a 9-title book series entitled “Cape Cod Eco-Tales.”

During the walks, children will listen to the environment and the stories told by Clemmer, explore the natural world of Wellfleet conservation lands and create souvenirs using their own writing, art or photography.

They’ll do all of this while exploring locations such as Hamblin Island Park, Uncle Tim’s Bridge, salt marshes, cedar swamps and vernal pools.

Children must be accompanied by an adult, and advance registration is required.
