Wellfleet Voters to Pick Candidates Today in Race for Selectmen, School Committee

WELLFLEET – Wellfleet voters are heading to the polls today to decide a couple of contested races.

In the race for board of selectmen, incumbent Helen Miranda Wilson and challengers Justina Carlson, Thomas Flynn, David Rowell and Walter Rowell are running for two seats.

Current selectman chair Dennis Murphy opted not to run for re-election.

For school committee, incumbents Janis Plaue, Jill Ellen Putnam and Charles Annett are running for two available seats.

There are also uncontested races for board of library trustees, cemetery commission and housing authority.

Wellfleet voters also have two ballot questions on the ballot, including tax overrides for a new Cape Cod Regional Technical High School and a new water resource director.

Polls are open in Wellfleet until 8 p.m.
