What’s in a Name? Maybe a Gender-Neutral Change for a Brewster Board

BREWSTER – The Brewster special town meeting Monday night will debate an article that would ban recreational marijuana shops from opening in town.

If Article 10 fails, Article 11 would seek a ban until the end of 2018 so regulations could be put in place.

Several Cape Cod towns have either banned recreational pot shops this fall or placed moratoriums on them.

Brewster residents will also debate several zoning changes and a couple of land purchases.

Article 13 would change the name of the Board of Selectmen to the gender-neutral Select Board.

Brewster special town meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Stony Brook Elementary School on Underpass Road.
